I worked for tips for years and I am against all forms of tipping. I now tip well because that is the norm and I've been there and know what it feels like. However no job should require you to live off of tips...

I agree that paying for a delivery service such as this and having to tip is ridiculous, especially for a company as financially successful as Walmart. They should pay your tip to the delivery person on behalf of your membership. If I pay $400 worth of groceries twice a month and then I have to pay a recommended 15-20% each delivery, that's a lot. What if $400 is my monthly budget? Obviously, the driver should get paid if they're bringing all of the groceries to the door but I shouldn't have to pay them out of my own pocket AND pay for your service.

I signed up for their 3 month free trial at the beginning of the year. Seemed like I would use it since I really don't like to have go to the brick and mortar store. I placed a decently sized order (about $125) of various grocery needs, including a bunch of produce. Never again. Walmart produce is generally sub-par and I try not to buy it, but the produce I received from the Walmart+ order was abysmal. Damaged, measly and/or bruised. Seemed like I got the stuff they were going to discard. I didn't renew the membership.

I wasn't expecting to be eligible because I've tried it before. Apparently they want us back. Back in for a year. This works out great for Black Friday when all the good stuff is first for Walmart+ members. As others have said if you order less than $35 for store grocery pickup they charge you $5.99. That's my only complaint. I used to preorder video games to get around this.

I received a notification on my phone that this offer was available to me. I signed up for the monthly plan again and got an email confirmation yesterday and got the promo code email this morning.

I tried their free month promo.
Bought $150 in groceries and sundries. They wanted a $15 tip. I gave $5. Walmart said it could ship some items(I was fine with that, so chose that). The next day they brought most of my groceries. The day after that, a bag of potato chips. The next few days fedex brought me my 2-liter pop. After one week I get an email: We cancelled the rest of your order that was to be shipped.
Why??? I went straight to their site and cancelled my free trial.

That's what keeps me from signing up for grocery delivery. I go to the store and see all the rejects sitting on the shelf and the online order people come through and grab all of it to get rid of it. Meanwhile stockers are bringing out fresh stuff which is what I grab.

It all comes back to "if you want something done right, you've got to do it yourself".

Sometimes even when I choose shipping they change it to delivery and deliver the same day. I feel so bad for the driver delivering a $1 item and there's no option to tip. I probably won't renew after my current membership ends.

For me it's worth it just for the ability to use scan & go in-store and to get free shipping from walmart.com without ordering $35 worth of stuff, and the gas discount is nice. This bonus will definitely make it worth my while. I've never ordered groceries to be delivered except for non-perishables on Amazon. I prefer to do my own grocery shopping in-store.
