My dog is only 3, do I need to give him this stuff?
If he doesn't have arthritis, then no.

Ask your vet before giving a dog any supplements.

How does this compare to Cosequin, which has the same 40% coupon?

It varies by situation obviously - but our vet and others seem to prefer Dasuquin. Ours gives us Dasuquin Advanced which supposedly has some proprietary additives for a vet formula, but who knows, we'll also use this 'normal' Dasauquin. It has a higher concentration of all the same ingredients, so you can do some math to figure out your dosing and what might put you ahead. Dasuquin also has one or two other active ingredients (I don't recall which) that Cosequin doesn't. I think Dasuquin is "more" preferred with more acute cases of arthritis and pain.

For our older and quite arthritic pup we stick with Dasuquin - as dosing amounts end up being similar and he responds well to it. But Cosequin can definitely be a cost saver during sales like this and when on sale at Costco.

But as always, consult your vet for any supplementation.

Similar active ingredients so I'd expect similar results. However, both my main vet and an orthopedic surgeon I took my injured dog to specifically recommended this Dasuquin+MSM as the supplement of choice for both my dog recovering from knee injury and my old arthritic beagle (two separate dogs). The improvement in quality of life, particularly for the old beagle, has been so remarkable that as long as I can afford it I'm not going to risk changing it up.

I was frankly skeptical -- I have not noticed much improvement with my own issues from taking glucosamine/chondroitin/MSM supplements, and figured it'd probably just be a money flush for my dog but worth a try. But it's been night and day. The old beagle couldn't go up or down stairs any more a couple of years ago and now he's able to hop up on the sofa unassisted and even run around a bit if motivated.

Thank you for the feedback. This is for my 12yo beagle.

Can anyone speak to if this is safe for dogs with diabetes? I have a 10 yr old Maltipoo who was diagnosed with diabetes bout 7 months ago. We finally were able to get his insulin dosage and blood sugar levels in order but he also suffers from arthritis and would love to know if this would work for him. Thanks in advance my fellow dog lovers.

My Lab gets Adequan injections and we give her this product as well as Movoflex. This regiment was recommended by our Vet. I would recommend a call to your Vet's office and just ask.

Now, in regards to Dasaquin and Movoflex, I used to get mine from Amazon S&S and found that the product was either old or counterfeit. The chews were hard and not always the same exact size. Now, I just spend the extra money and get them both from Chewys. Amazon has lots of counterfeit products sold through their business. I'm not an Amazon hater. I spend more money with them through daily purchases and S&S than I care to admit. I'm just pointing out my experience and my response to what I have received. I want to keep my dog alive and healthy for as long as I can. Quality matters more that pricing.
Thanks for the info about Movoflex, I just ordered some from Chewy. I'll cut the large dog ones in half, same as I do for the Dasaquin.

Note: Amazon is not an authorized distribution channel from nutramax and does not get it's supply from them. I wouldn't buy any nutramax items from Amazon in fear of tainted or counterfeit products which is a known issue. It could make your per very sick or worse. Please think twice.

Looks to me as if Amazon is an authorized dealer
