I'm not an expert on the product but I believe the ecobee sensors have a motion detector to say if a room is "occupied" or not. But i just use it as a thermostat for certain times/situations.

Yes these sensors have a thermometer, motion sensor and an occupancy sensor in them.

In case anyone is having trouble finding in stock at Home Depot or at Amazon that is back ordered I was able to successfully price match at Best Buy to Home Depot for the same $79.99 and they are available for pickup or delivery today!
