What is this for? I tried looking this up at Newegg and the description there wasn't very helpful either. Looks like you could connect 4 NVME SSDs but how? They plug into the ends of the card that is inside the case?
Looks like $208.80 is the normal price.. is this a good deal? Why would someone want this? Not understanding the appeal. Spindle drives are much cheaper if folks want to get more storage for less $.
Update: So apparently this card includes SFF-8643 connectors, for which you could buy SFF8643 to SATA converters. Using this card you could then hook up a bunch more hard drives and place them in your case. Likely this card would be very useful for folks building a network attached storage (NAS) server.

if you just want a JBOD HBA, you'll need to reflash it, which takes 10 mins.
An IBM M1015 can be used too, but it's more expensive, and the SFF-8087 ports aren't placed as conveniently.
