Is absolute nonsense. In comparison, thinking $65.76 for the OP should be the list price.
douglascm's link [youtube.com] is spot on. But, Project Farm's older test [youtube.com] that did not include the OP was interesting.
Perhaps be patient and wait on a sale for the 6.5 Craftsman from Ace Hardware [acehardware.com] or Lowes [lowes.com] or perhaps even Amazon [amazon.com]. We used to buy from Sears, but they want stupid money today.
Nevertheless, HF Baur, DeWalt, Ridgid also make good shop vacuums, but remember that with Bauer, you want to buy the extended warranty that is simply exchanging for a brand new one.
Now, for some cordless deals... PF test results [youtube.com] were interesting. Ryobi did better than I thought it would do against the big boys.

It is in douglascm's link [youtube.com] against other shop vacuums, where the other shop vacuums can then be compared in the PF's link [youtube.com].
Interesting is that the Bauer is rated at 6hp and the Vacmaster and others are rated at 6.5hp. If we had not been using the 6.5hp Craftsman vacs for a few decades, I would consider the Bauer that old_ linked to [harborfreight.com] with coupon. But, I would buy the extended warranty for an even exchange for new if needed.
==============
It seems that we have tried them all over the years and with one usually in each truck, home, shop and have given several away to family members, it is the Craftsman 6.5hp version that holds up the best with the most performance while lasting the longest.
We have one that is 40 years old with the switch broke to the on position and a cracked plastic motor cover from abuse that still works. I leave the filter out, attached a hose connection to constantly empty and use that one for water cleanup. It will not empty fast enough, but works ok. I thought about installing a submersible pump inside the tank to empty a lot faster than gravity and would pump uphill from like a basement, but have not got around to it.
