Downsides: the mic is poor, no ir sensor that stops media play back when you take one out, bluetooth reception is poorer than on my high end headphones like my wf and wh 1000x3s.
Also there is no port on the carrying case, only a male usb-a connector on a short cable.
I'm tempted to pick up another pair.

Edit: I personally hate the ir feature on my wf-1000x3s that stops media playback upon removal. So that's not really a con for me.
