With a certain rebate you can bring the price further down to $1524.

For AMEX card holders, there's a $150 off $599 amex offer, 10% statement credit offer, and if you're a business plat holder and haven't used your credit $200 statement credit (which also resets on July 1st).

Indeed. Thank you for pointing that out.

Rtings has a nice thorough review of this model.

https://www.rtings.com/laptop/rev...l/g15-2022

Says MUX switch might be enabled by firmware later?

Seems like a good deal especially if can get $150 + 12% cash back.

I'd personally go for something a little lighter and slower with better build quality. But if you want that performance it's tough to beat.

I thought a MUX switch would be standard on all recent laptops by now, especially at this price point. Also only one NVME slot when comparable models offer 2. Those are big downsides for anyone considering this one.

So with no MUX switch, there is no way to disable iGPU if using the laptop screen?

Also, if you have the $150 offer on more than 1 card, Dell allows you to do "split payments"...I have it on 3 cards currently

I think Amex fixed this. If you used the offer on one card, the others will disappear. It works though if you got multiple offers across yours and your wife's card, for example.

Correct, however, I am talking about authorized user accounts which all get their own offers. In my account I had set up 10 different AU's many many years ago before amex started requiring SS numbers for them. One of the main reasons why I will never ever cancel my Simply Cash card account..

Unless they changed it this year, there is option to disable optimus via bios. Setting on bios mentions advanced optimus might be available in the future.

Jared's tech shows it at timestamp 1:08 on 2021 AMD model with 3060(optimus was confirmed not available on 3050)
https://youtu.be/xw6Xw_uKo58
Also mentions MUX is available here on 2021:
https://jarrods.tech/list-of-gami...ux-switch/

updates:
RTings review states G15 2022 doesn't have optimus, but may get it in a BIOS update. However, this may be because they tested the 3050 model which didn't get optimus before either.
https://www.rtings.com/laptop/rev...l/g15-2022

Someone on this reddit mentions they turned off optimus on this 3070ti model via Nvidia (suggesting advanced optimus), so I am leaning toward it being available.
https://www.reddit.com/r/intel/co...urce=share

This reddit post suggests options were different on AMD 2021 model based on display version. Pictures show advanced optimus (and g-sync) was available on 360hz panel but not 160hz panel.
https://www.reddit.com/r/GamingLa...mkgnrO2C2N

My best guess based on above is that this 3070ti with this panel will likely have both optimus via BIOS and advanced optimus via Nvidia controls with the former being more certain than the latter. G-sync is also a slight possibility.

Side note: One more thing that G15 doesn't have that wasn't mentioned is that there is no USB-C PD.

I don't think 50off699 and the 10% coupon stacks, because I think I got this price after just the 10% coupon. Still, doesn't hurt to try.

Some people might want to consider upgrade to 32gb RAM for an extra $133 ($1808 before cb) since replacing the sticks afterwards will cost around $200 or more.

The l5i pro 12700h 3070ti has been similar price and is a far better laptop for the money. This laptop doesn't even have a second SSD slot.. insane, only one in its class, worse then the $700 last generation dell g15 1650's. Also, the included SSD is gimped and half size.

and one ssd slot, and very poor stock SSD half size. legion 5i pro's can have 10gbs stock drives as an example of what premium price tier laptops should include.

I have the G15 2022 (12700H, 3070Ti). You could disable optimus in the nvidia control panel.
