Amazon has the Char-Griller E6520 Akorn charcoal grill w/cart for $274.93 with free Prime shipping. Maybe not "slick" slick as this used to go on sale for less once a year or so pre-pandemic. But this is the lowest non-YMMV price I've seen in nearly two years.

Versions of this with wing trays instead of the cart appear to be going for $330 or more online, though Walmart appears to have a Blue Sapphire version with the cart for about that price, shipped. Locally (40511) none of the usual stores have them in stock.
After 2017 this version does not come with at least two features that were included before then: a warming rack, and lockable wheels on the front legs. Also the integrated utensil hooks on the side of the tray appear to have been replaced with S-hooks. Otherwise it appears essentially identical to the older version.
Still a decent deal if just getting into the kamado game or looking to replace an aging Akorn.

- Cover is a MUST have to reduce rusting from rain / humidity as much as possible.
- After closing vents and coals are out from a low/slow cook, dump the ash catcher and if not raining leave the lid open for a day if possible, to let any condensation dry out.
- If expecting to do cooks while it's raining, get a 6-inch galvanized rain cap - basically a vent pipe with an umbrella of sorts on top - and place that over the top vent. Cut a notch for the vent handle, and it will keep most rain from dripping inside.
- If any parts do rust out, Char-Griller is pretty good about carrying spare parts on their web site and most are surprisingly affordable, at least as compared to buying a new grill.
As for cooking, for grilling it's like any other grill. For low/slow cooks, yeah, it's going to be different from a ceramic. I think to sum up some advice in a recent thread, ceramic is harder to bring up to temp and dumps heat faster; insulated steel is very efficient and comes up to temp faster but is more difficult to cool down. The techniques simply aren't the same. My first few low/slow cooks had wild swings. Since then I've been careful to start a little earlier and not light as many coals at the beginning to prevent overshooting desired temp. It's been great for going on seven years now.
Did buy this one, though, and will gift the old grill to my son so maybe I won't have to do everything at the next family cookout.
If a good sale comes up on that thing it'll be darn tempting, despite having the 5260 and TW Signals/Billows setup.

I love the stand on this. Always better to have more surface area to put stuff rather than needing to setup a separate table.
FWIW: Got this cover at Walmart for $15, cheaper and easier to put on/off than the Akorn OEM one, and is holding up very well. Walmart, Expert Grill, 3-4 Burner Gas Grill Cover. item# 565570251.
I was originally disappointed that it didn't have the integrated hooks like the 2017 and older versions.
Turns out the new shelf is actually painted steel, so there's no more chance of it melting when hot utensils get set down on it. That makes it an upgrade IMO, despite the possibility that a utensil, griddle, grate, etc. might scratch the paint. It can always be repainted.
Further, the Char-Griller web site has this side table as a replacement part (model 900336) for just $40 + shipping, if you have the old model and want the steel table.
