I use this tv with a ps5 and gaming pc with none of this issues you stated. Horizon FW looks insanely good with vibrant color and no tearing or artifacts. I'm really impressed with the quality and black levels (coming from an owner of 3 oleds).

You basically can't do better than this for under $900.

Couldn't you adjust the brightness to your liking? Or are you saying it was too bright even on the lowest brightness setting?

I bought the Hisense 55" U6GR5 4K ULED LCD TV from Costco for $399.99 just 5 days ago! Is it worth returning the Costco one and buying this one?

Depends if your going to use the tv for pc gaming or xbox series x , PS5 then maybe opt for the brighter faster U8G. Your preference really. I just scored a
55" u7g the other day for 499 @ amazon but sold out. Maybe they come back in stock 🤔 for the same price

Man all the sales for the 55s and not the 65s. Seems like the 55s are the evil step child of the tvs...

Here is a good comparison of the two.

I want to love this TV... great HDR brightness, tons of local dimming zones, and two HDMI 2.1 ports with VRR (for gaming). I was really thinking about it BUT for a TV targeted at gaming (console or PCC VRR use), it has very serious issues with major artifacts in game mode with VRR on. 4k@120 also disables many other effects including local dimming and active contrast due to an overwhelmed TV CPU chip, and the TV has incredibly bad stuttering on 24p content (most blurays).

https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/hisense/u8g

Also, it doesn't follow standard color curves which causes real-life movie & TV HDR scenes to be washed out (yuck!).

https://twitter.com/chrisheinonen...16928?s=20

It also appears that recent firmware has caused a very serious audio dropout issue, maybe due to that overwhelmed CPU.

Unfortunately, you still often get what you pay for.

The H9G is higher rated than the U8G [rtings.com] and the 65" is selling for $670.71 on amazon [amazon.com].

Incorrect comparison. Those two TVs you mention are very similar, but the U8G pulls ahead with displaying 120hz content properly.

I've had no issues with this TV. Looks fantastic and plays well with my Xbox. Super happy especially at such cheap prices.

I had the 65" U8G and it's super impressive with colors and brightness. However, be careful that your panel doesn't have light bleed in the black bars. I had two U8Gs and both of them had this issue and it was so distracting that I had to return both of them. Basically, when there's a bright object next to the black bars, the bars will then become greyish in that area.
