Go to your pharmacy and ask for the generic alternative to Dramamine/nausea medicine. I do this at my local sam's club, and they give me a 100 ct. For like 3 bucks. My kids always need this on long road trips, and it works like a charm. I'll reply again if I find the bottle and name
Imagine thinking $3 is a great deal for 4 or 8 pills when you get get the generic version for $6 and get 100 pills

Regular Dramamine equivalate:

They're closely related. Dramamine is Dimenhydrinate. Benadryl is Diphenhydramine

How well does this stuff work for FPS video games? Some devs are nice enough to throw an option to disable motion blur, which helps some. But some games like Dying Light, I can't even attempt to play. Anyone have any luck with this?

For VR it helps out a lot, I would stick to the generic though as it's far cheaper and you get way more.

1) Dimenhydrinate contains the diphenhydramine of Benadryl---just bound to a mild stimulant to counteract the drowsiness that diphenhydramine casues.

2) This "less drowsy" version isn't either of those drugs, but rather Meclizine. I find it to work reasonably well for nausea (boats/airplanes). It does make me a little drowsy, but not too much to function or drive. Also feels like it's a bit calming/anxiolytic to me too.

My recommendation, take it the night before you head out onto the water

General recommendation is a few hours before you're expected to get nauseous, because once you do, it's hard to stop.
