New internet service is working fine. At the time of installation, tech advised that someone will come to bury the fiber in about two weeks. Well, got an email stating the cable will be buried middle of next month (yes, in July), approx 6 -7 weeks after service activation. Was concerned if cable exposed to heat, foot traffic, dogs, bobcats and cars driving over it will last until then.
And then today, I woke up to noise in my backyard. Viola, the AT&T contractor was busy burying the cable, about 8 days after service activation. The contractor was burying a completely different fiber line and left the presently active one untouched. Was told that a tech from AT&T will be come by in a day or two to disconnect the original fiber line and connect the newly buried fiber line.
One hour later, a knock on the door and AT&T is ready to connect the buried fiber line. 15 minutes later, the buried fiber line is live and original fiber line is taken away.
No complaints here. Service works fine, and work has been completed. Just confused about all of the incorrect dates. For me doing WFH, not an issue. But imagine if you are at work and find out you missed these surprises....would be frustrating
Now for the rewards card. Was informed originally that it would take a month or so to get the rewards. Well, an email popped up earlier this week educating me on the process to get the rewards and to watch my email for updates. And then a new email last night with details to go and claim my rewards. No complaints again. Rewards in less than 10 days. Started the online claim process and was presented a page asking me to upload current bill with ETF details. What the heck?
Abandoned the web page and called the Rewards number. 10 minutes later, I am told the system shows only $400 of rewards, $50 less than promised. But wait, the CSR advises that they will research and provide an update within 30 days about the missing $50 rewards. Cool! Since I called, they will print a physical rewards card and send it via snail mail. Works for me!
Again a confusing mess where actual dates are vastly different than advised time frames. No complaints but am wondering if the new AT&T motto is built around under-promising and then surprising the customer.
"To process this reward you must submit a complete copy of your previous providers internet bill with a matching last name and/or service address dated within 60 days of your AT&T order date showing ETF (Early Termination Fee). Customers will be eligible to receive the amount of their actual ETF rounded up to the nearest $10 increment."

Side note: download speed has consistently been between 250-350mbps its been on the higher end more likely than not
