Our friends who lives literally across the main street from us have AT&T Fiber, but the service is not available for us. What the hell? Did they just run their fiber up to across the street and say let's screw that whole neighborhood over there? It's literally only about 300ft away.

Used to pay $60 with equipment for 1G line that got increased to $70 a few months back. ATT has been raising price on that.

I have a couple of questions:

1) Do all the plans (300, 500, and 1 gig) come with the same equipment, the bgw320? Or does the 300 potentially have a lower end gateway

edit: https://forums.att.com/conversati...2e18de0a84

looks like you can get a lower end gateway, probably better off ordering the 1gig at first anyway because of the 50 dollar extra gift card

2) Do you need an ONT to be installed for all 3? Are they installed externally, or will they need to do something on an inside wall in the house?

edit: also in the above link, looks like its all internal now

3) Do they let you schedule installs on weekend? If not, after 5pm weekdays?

tyvm.
Yes, they do let you schedule the installation on weekends.

.

All three of those speeds will work with the BGW210 and an external (Nokia) ONT. AT&T is short of BGW320s and if your area is serviced by GPON (you don't have XG-PON 2Gbps nor 5Gbps service available) there's a good chance you will get a BGW210 with an external ONT installed on a wall plate indoors. Your fiber connection will come from the NID to inside of your house and plug into the ONT. The BGW210 will connect to the ONT via Ethernet. That said, the BGW210 is a decent enough gateway for many, although not with WiFi 6. That may or may not make a difference depending on the layout of your home and what clients you use or if you use your own Wifi router. (I don't use the WiFi on mine.)

You need an ONT installed in any case. The difference with the BGW320 is the ONT is a module that is in the SFP form factor and plugs into the BGW320 itself. There are two modules, either one for GPON or one for XG-PON. In this case, the fiber from the NID runs inside of your home all the way to the BGW320 and connects to the ONT module. The BGW320 powers this internal module, whereas with the BGW210 / external Nokia ONT combo, the ONT also needs a power adapter. Although, for some customers it is easier to move the gateway in this case because the cabling between the two is standard Ethernet.

If one is technically inclined, having the BGW210 with external ONT has allowed some to bypass the AT&T gateway completely by using their own equipment. Not for a faint of heart, not supported, subject to being fixed by AT&T.

I signed up for 300m and they I installed it yesterday with a BGW320-500 residential gateway that is integrated with an ONT, modem, and wireless router. I'm actually getting closer to 400m speeds.

Also, I thought all fiber plans have no data caps but after logging into my account it says 1024gb data limit under the description. I this a mistake?

The rep who signed me up was able to offer a $500 rebate card. I hope it comes thru.

Do you know what coupons the agent used to get $500?

I got an email to claim my Visa reward card. But it asked me to upload my previous provider bill for the ETF reimbursement. That doesn't apply to me since I don't need any ETF reimbursement. Will I get other emails for the $250 Visa reward cards?

In the same page you checked ETF, it will multiple tabs like "Rewards 1" "Rewards 2" "Rewards 3" , there you can claim

Similar issue here, except a block over. So annoying. Stuck with 50mb max here whereas the nerds a block away get 1gb+. I call at&t every few weeks and claim there are just as many nerds on this block also and they are missing out on lots of business!!

I am moving and called ATT to see if I could keep my existing $70/month plus free HBO Max account while getting these promotions. The rep got me $200 GC but said I would lose HBO Max, claiming that it is linked to my current address.

How many reward cards are you all getting?

My reward total is supposed to be $500. So far a $50 and then a $150 card showed up on the ATT rewards center. Will more be available at different times?
