Can anyone comment as to the quality of said device. While I might be ignorant, I assumed all devices (straighteners like this one)were the same with the exception that some brands heat up faster.

I have it and it's horrible, I missed the return policy. I like my foxybae straightener much better. This one has no lock and feels bulky.

I have the G2 and it is amazing. I've had it for a few years and it's good. No hair damage and straightens on the first pass:

I don't think this has precise temperature control. Different hair types requires different temperatures. Definitely something to look for.

Idk about quality, but I got one for my wife about 15 years ago and she uses it almost daily. She loves it and it still looks new. I paid $90 at target and I thought I was getting a steal.
$40 is awesome. I might buy one as a back up

I bought this exact one when it was on sale last time, off amazon. It is trash. I returned it. My gf has an original Chi which she's had for over a decade, and I thought this would be as good. This one doesn't have any ability, whatsoever, to control the temperature. Trash.

I bought this and returned it. The description says "up to 392" , but there is no way to adjust temperature. This is a good brand , I just need adjustable temp.
