I have the 4.0 version for few days now. So far, I did not see audio lag. The map lags about less then a second but it is working fine. It does take about 20 - 25 seconds to connect everytime. It does both Carplay and Android auto. The calls, audio sounds are good. I did not notice lagging during music and phone calls. However, I play music using youtube and it did freezed a couple of times. It was because I lost network connect on my phone, then it comes back working fine again. FYI, the initial set up show VW on the bluetooth but I have the Hyuandai. After the set up, it updated to Hyundai. Overall, it is work good so far.
No because CarPlay uses wifi to connect to your phone. Even official Apple wireless CarPlay in a BMW won't allow you to simultaneously use the hotspot function.
I used the coupon code: LISA
It took 15% off.

I wish there was a device I could just connect to 2007 Civic built-in navigation system to make it a smart device

What is the intended use of this device if a vehicle is not in use for several days at a time? Is it safe to just leave plugged in the whole time? Also, how well does it stand up to 95° weather (considering it'll be even hotter in the car)?
If it is garaged I'd leave it in, if in the heat I'd bring it in or at least stick it in a glove box.

I purchased the 3.0 version a few weeks ago. I love it. The only complaint is that it takes about a minute to boot up before it starts streaming music. I'm wondering if this 4.0 version might eliminate some of that lag.
That may be your vehicle. I got the 3.0 recently and it seems to pair as fast as wired. May want to try on different car to see if that's the case consistently.

I had purchased two 3.0 versions kits from this company. The products shipped from China and had quality issues. I had contacted the company few times but no reply since two weeks. I will not purchased the product from this company.

This unit is "dual" (CarPlay and Android Auto). There's a link in this thread for a YouTube review that tests it both with an iPhone and an Android phone in the same vehicle with the same unit.

Thanks. I checked link and saw it does both. The reviews are atrocious on Amazon though. There's a Motorola wireless Android auto that is around $80 that's better.

Are you saying that b/c the page says "Wired CarPlay installed on original car"?

How would that make a difference, I wonder.
Initially I thought about it. Turns out it doesn't matter (as you pointed out) for most receivers. However, the Alpine iLX-W650 is a budget receiver and doesn't support this kit (as per Reddit sub).

Edit: A recent comment on the sub seems to suggest that it works after a firmware upgrade for someone. Waiting to hear back from him!

Just hooked the 3.0 up to my Dual XDCPA10BT a couple days ago and it works great. I've not really noticed any lag that bothers me.

Our 21' Kia K5 is going into service for probably the 5th time because it's can't hold a consistent wireless CarPlay connection but this $50 chip for China can which is pretty sad.
Thanks for listing the stereo model.
I put the same stereo in my F-150.

I installed this on my MB 2019 E300, and the car won't even start the next day due to "SRS Check Failed". After 30 minutes of failed attempts, unplugged this device and the car started back up again.

Poor suporte Service !

product does not work as described, manufacturer support does not respond, the store also does not accept returns, wants to pay me 20% of the amount paid as a gift in store! run away…. , if you want to test if it works, buy from amazon or a local (us) supplier. 😖💆 ♂️

I clicked the in stock alert in Target for the Motorola A1.
Finally snatched one, works very well so far.
Maps and Spotify are great.

Thanks for nothing... Motorola has its own share of problems, plus it's $89.
