Not all 3050's are the same.
30 series mobile graphics cards are available at a variety of power configurations.
The higher power TGP 3050 will be faster than the lower power TGP 3050.
Usually, the higher power it is, the thicker and heavier the cooling solution, and therefor the laptop, will be.

It's a good deal, but yes this is overkill if all you need is web browsing and office type work. Battery life would be expected to be lower than with these parts as well compared to a typical laptop.

The only downside is that this laptop is on the heavier side, but if that is not an issue, the upside is that you can game on it.

I purchased the Intel version when it was on special a few weeks back. Was well worth the purchase and came with the 3050ti. Definitely a bit in the heavier side, but no complaints.
