It has been on clearance even online earlier. The poor reviews have been holding me back from buying it even I have been using half a dozen older Tiles already.

After experiencing Samsung's tracker and how awesome it was to track my stuff during a move, I suggest using Apple or Samsung's tech instead, depending on what ecosystem you use. The sheer number of phones out there that can help you track things makes Tile seem very outdated.

How is it worse than older model?
2022 tile pro should have replacable battery, but 2022 mate sucks with NON replacable battery.

apple airtag is $28 EACH, and I have to buy additional pouch w/ring/hook to attach it keychain. I have this too, liked it, though expensive.
Samsung ones also $28 each.

All my older Tiles Pro and Tiles mates, but the Slim, have replaceable batteries already. You are talking about the original models from 2+ years ago that have no replaceable battery.

Unfortunately the Samsung Smarttag only works on Samsung phones. Hopefully that Google will release an open tag.

I must say that while it is not the best, it still works for me. I have these that we are taking about and it helped me find my keys and my phone whenever I needed to find them.
