Nice tent and 2 sleeping bags combo deal from Costco. The Coleman tent's are solid and from my experiences, easy to set up, high quality materials, and waterproof. Sleeping bags are generous size too.

i just picked up this exact deal which arrived yesterday and tested it out. i'm a little over 6 feet tall and find laying the hamburger way (7 feet) is too snug of a fit with the arched ceiling. my toes/head touch the walls. a cot would be a definite no. i got this to use with my wife and we need to use the long way (9 feet) to fit comfortably. this is just barely big enough for 2 people + gear in this configuration. so if you're over 6 feet tall i do not think this tent is overkill at all for one person, but any bigger would probably be unnecessary..and if you're shorter you could get away with a 7x7 or 5x7 instead. for us, we're considering swapping for a 6 person 9x9 config so we don't have to crawl over each other to get to the door.

Ironically the bonus xl sleeping bags in this deal almost encourage hot dog config + tall people

Good car camping starter set, but don't expect to fit 4 people in the tent, unless they're <10 years old. Very good deal.

Having camped a lot, I would say buy the biggest tent you can afford and feel comfortable hauling. A 4 person tent will also have a low roofline, so if the weather sucks you might not enjoy having to hang out inside of it.

Still, a good deal for a 4 person from a reputable brand.

I'd say this is a moderate deal, and not worthwhile unless you'll exclusively be camping in the summer. Think of it as an ok price for the tent (which I think is a fine starter tent for two) ,with two free, but not very useful, sleeping bags thrown in. A 40 degree bag will feel cold at anything under 60 degrees at night. Big and tall is actually worse for warmth if you don't need the extra space. More cold air around you.

Quite a while ago Jun 5, 2014 @ $44.99. We already had bags. A decent tent. Good for two adults and one kid or adult and two kids. If in a dry area where touching walls is okay could go two and two.

Edit: That price was for tent only, no bags.

Is the tent overkill for 1 person?

I was on the Costco website two weeks ago and saw this for $99.99. It's really a saving of $20, FYI!
On the Coleman website, the tent alone was $75 (and you could choose the color).

Still a slick deal. For an extra $5, you get two sleeping bags.

Bought the tent back in 2018 for $50 on Amazon and it's been great. Perfect for 2 adults and a queen size air mattress, with some space at the foot of the mattress for bags. Used it up on Madeline Island last summer and had a pretty good rainstorm come through, and the inside stayed completely dry.
Not sure about the sleeping bags, but I'm sure that they'd be fine in the middle of the summer. Wouldn't want to use them when the temperature drops (at all) though.

The sleeping bags alone are $40 each on Walmart, so this essentially is a free tent. Don't need the tent and it is small, so may use it as a storage tent or something for kids stuff/toys to play in.

4 Person Tent and 2 Sleeping Bags, that says it all. Don't expect this to accommodate 4 people, but a good set for 2 people and 2 sleeping bags Smilie
