I had ordered the OG Samsung.com deal back in October when it was $2,400. We were closing on a new place that month and my loan officer strongly suggested I cancel the order and wait until after closing. I did that but the deal expired. Ended up saving me a lot of money I suppose!
I ended up going with the 85" Sony X91CJ from Costco during the Black Friday sales. It didn't "wow" me so I returned it within the 90 days and ended up getting a 77" Sony A80CJ "refurbished" locally for $1,900 OTD with a one year warranty. The TV only had 15 cycles and 36 hours on it - likely Super Bowl buy/return at Costco. The OLED looks fantastic and performs great... but man there is a part of me that misses the huge-ness of the 85" TV. This is the first deal that has me wondering if it is worth another switch out...
I'm sitting roughly 11.5 away and it seems to be ok at that distance. Any closer and you'll notice the pixels and fuzziness. We do however spend lots of viewing from our kitchen which is perfect at about 25' away.
Because of center base I'm kinda scared of putting it on a stand

tl;dr There's a few dozen criteria involved to answer that question.
EDIT: I had to scroll all the way to the right under financing options.
