If you're in need of just a laptop, you likely won't enjoy the relatively small screen and difficulty using it on your lap.

Totally different use cases. I'm typing on my M1 MB Air and just bought this for small-business needs. I don't edit Hollywood movies, so the Thinkpad is fine for me. If you edit Hollywood movies, you'll want the M2.

I do bet, however, some businesses did buy at or near MSRP. It's roasting hot at this price. I can't stomach waiting longer to see if it continues to drop.
Oh, and "chip shortage"
M1/M2 will run laps around this thing as far as performance goes.. plus the screen, audio, touchpad on the Mac will be much nicer as well
