Dell has the Inspiron 7425 2-in-1 14-inch convertible (Yoga-type) on sale for $587.99. Unlike with most of their deals, the 12% Capital One Spring coupon [capitalone.com] applies, bringing this to $517.43. Important: The code you get from Capital One is not the coupon code, you need to copy & paste that onto the linked Dell page to get the actual coupon code. Also, you do NOT have to have any account with Capital One to sign up for Spring.

I was able to stack this with the Amex offer ($40 off $200 - Dell allows you to split payment across 3 cards so I added the pen to bring this over $600 including tax, so my net cost was under $400 before tax).

This is the lowest price I've seen for a 14-inch convertible with a Zen 3 processor. For me the highlights are the 16:10 display, pen compatibility, good port selection including 2x USB-C ports supporting Power Delivery and display, metal build, upgradability (2 SODIMM slots, very unusual in a convertible), and of course excellent Zen 3 performance. (AMD's 6000 series processors promise even better graphics performance, but the CPU architecture is still Zen 3.) The downside is the mediocre display - but it'll have decent viewing angles and contrast and you can't really expect better for the price - and heavy-ish weight.

The predecessor model (7415 2-in-1) has been well-reviewed, and this adds Zen 3 (vs. Zen 2), 16:10 display, and a second USB-C port replacing the proprietary charging connector.

Specs:
  • AMD Ryzen 5 5625U with Zen 3 architecture, 6 cores, 12 threads
  • 14-inch 16:10 (1920 x 1280) wide viewing angle (IPS-type) display, 250 nits
  • 8GB 3200 MHz RAM installed in one SODIMM slot (leaving another slot free, recommend installing another 8GB module for dual-channel operation
  • 512GB NVME SSD in m.2 slot
  • Backlit keyboard
  • Fingerprint reader
  • MediaTek 802.11ax WiFi/Bluetooth (I recommend replacing with Intel AX200)
  • 54 WHr battery - bigger than average, should be good for at least 7-8 hours of normal use
  • 1080p front camera
  • Pebble green (very pale green)
  • Exterior chassis materials: aluminum
  • Weight: 3.6 lbs
  • Ports:
    • SD card reader
    • USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A
    • Audio jack
    • HDMI 1.4i
    • USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C™ with Power Delivery and DisplayPort
    • USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C™ with Power Delivery and DisplayPort

Seems like a slick deal with the Amex.

Same here, very slick deal, but when I try to apply the code, it says "This coupon code is invalid" (I'm not using the code CapitalOne gives, I went through the dell site & entered it in & got a code from dell, but it doesn't work for some reason)

Yes I contacted the rep and they said that my code doesn't work because this item is already discounted

Same with the coupon. Total with tax was $620. Amex deal (already got the confirmation) takes off another $120. Plus another another unnamed cash back (think buzzzz) offer might get back $40 more. Good deal.

Supposedly MPP purchases (12%) do not qualify for the Amex cash back promo (it's in the small print).

You were able to get it to work, then? Interesting, wonder why the coupon doesn't work for some of us

I'd say he/she was not, because no state would add $100 of tax

Even on their 7000 series they use a 250 nit screen? That makes no sense.

Yes they do. Regardless of what the terms say, there have been countless data points confirming Amex offers do work on MPP purchases. I ordered and got the Amex emails already.

I just tried getting another coupon from Capital One, and it applied just fine on Dell's site for this item. I'm guessing you might have clicked on a link in the original post rather than the "See Deal" button. The post had a link to the Dell Home site, which will not apply the coupon - I've removed that link.
