I've had good luck with this brand and this seems like a good price for 700 square feet of cooling.

What does 'with heat' mean? Heat strip or heat pump heat?

Given the very high minimum temp I think it's safe to say heat pump.

"Minimum Operating Temperature (Heating): 50 degrees F"

Dang this looks like it was a good deal, but sold out. Just what I was looking for. I need a portable ac & heat unit to provide HVAC for an old drafty farmhouse. Does anyone know whether these would work well if it's not an open concept plan? Say I had it in the central living room, does it work to cool other rooms if they are nearby and doors are open?

I have this exact model in my 850 sq foot home, purchased at Costco a few years ago. It does an ok job cooling the open room, but nothing gets around the corner to the 2 bedrooms if I leave doors open. Maybe a few fans pushing the air along would help, but don't expect it to do so on its own.

Yea... without double hose it doesn't make a huge difference

Okay that's what I figured. Thanks for the reply!
