No, you should only ever interconnect identical model panels.

I would always recommend buying/installing solar panels in even numbers when possible and avoid ever mixing solar panels together on an electrical circuit. Each model of solar panel has its own characteristics, its own voltage and its own amperage/current, and if you mix them together the best case scenario is that you only get the performance of the lowest outputting panel, worst case is that you fry the panel with the lowest amperage / current rating. And that raises another important point, if you are ever using more than two panels, always connect fuses to your solar panel wiring to prevent damage and fires.

You can however, have completely different types of panels connected to the same -system-, provided each group is on their own independent charge controller, and each charge controller is outputting the same voltage to the battery.

They aren't going to be using a single 100w panel to do that.

I like this kit with case controller and stand for camping and it says I can add another panel but can it be any 100w panel?

Still to much per watt

Seems like Acopower is having a sale (with an extra coupon) on most of their panels on Amazon is you're not interested in the extra stuff.

What's a realistic expectation from these panels, are they able to charge cellphones or other batteries? Like can I charge AA/AAA batteries, and how long would it take? Or can I charge large back up batteries like 10,000 mAh battery so I have them in reserves? Do you know any other way to charge and store the charge so I can use it later with low idle-discharge rate?

I think you'd need a 12V inverter to do most things. see the "buy with" items include a "cigarette lighter"-style outlet.
Don't people use car batteries for storage typically?

Can it charge tesla model 3?
It would take 500 hours of direct sunlight to fully charge a standard range Tesla.

I have a small 4x8' travel camper I plan on towing around the country (FWIW it's a "Runaway (brand) Cool Camp (model).

It has shore power but I plan on setting up in more remote areas like state forests that won't have hook ups. Because of that I'm looking for a setup that I can use to charge phone/tool (18V) batteries and perhaps other electronics like small fan or laptop.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

I'm handy enough to mount a panel on the trailer but it could be portable too. I imagine I need a panel and the device that hooks into to store the solar energy it generates and than a converter to transform it into usable energy? Is that correct?

Thanks for the input, complete noob here

I'm looking at investing in a 12v cooler, probably the cx50 from Costco since I don't trust these newer compressor applications to last that long so costco's return policy is very valuable to me. Any recommendations on a portable (less than 30" on any side) panel at a good cost per watt to charge a battery powering such a cooler off the grid?

you want a solar power station. Get one big enough for your needs. Trends are for newer lifepo4 chemistry.

Thank you for this informative post. Could you point me in the right direction for a quality guide for doing these things? There's a ton of click bait and junk out there and I'm not sure what the best info is. Please pardon my lack of experience in this field. Thanks.

Don't ever tell that to a Tesla owner who claims they charge their batteries with solar.
They aren't going to be using a single 100w panel to do that.

Nice little kit considering it packs as a suitcase and has a charge controller.

The similar kit from HarborFreight is $189.

Even something as large as a 8KW home system will provide little power to charge the battery after taking into account the loads already present at the house (That's why the system was purchased in the first place, right) and optimal generation times.
