If you are getting a smoker, DO NOT get a Traeger. They are terrible, customer service is terrible, and they are way overpriced. I bought one from Costco and returned it. Was total junk. The return desk lady said "I've returned more of these than I've seen people buy them." lol Get a recteq

Costco has different pricing for online and the warehouse. The online prices are higher, probably because of shipping. Best bet is to go to a Costco warehouse which you will find it for $449.99 (if its in stock).

Costco's website should allow you to search local inventory but they don't have that feature.

As a traeger owner I have no issues with mine but I found mine in a neighborhood website brand new and paid $300 for a pro 570. The old owner couldn't get WiFi to work and never used it. If you're going to spend that kind of money I would agree it and get a recteq for maybe a few more bucks. All stainless steel parts too. But I will mention I have had 0 issues thus far

I will chime in and say that my entry level Camp Chef has also been great. I guess my ultimate recommendation would be not to spend a ton of money on your first grill of this type. Get something entry level and see if you like the process. This is more of a hobby than just a cooking tool.

Did you look at anything other than the price? They are some of best in the game with the materials they have at that price point.

Who kicked your dog? They are not terrible by any stretch. Are there better ones out there? Sure. Are there worse? Probably . But they're certainly one of the better ones either way even at their price point.

Really like my pit boss. Decent smoker for not that much money. Has held up very well for years, just the clean up is a bit of a task since you need a shop vac to get the ash and leftover pellets . Customer service is decent too if you have any problems, and there's a really helpful pit boss Facebook group with recipes and modifications.

I grabbed this a few weeks ago and just got them to price adjust. I have been happy so far.

Just takes getting used to cooking with the pellets and also getting the pellet mixture right for whatever smoke flavor you are looking for.

One issue I had was the temp probe was way off but I knew that from reading other reviews. My Costco still has 2 or 3 left.

Just pulled trigger yesterday. It's the same price as Pit Boss and Menards brands. If I really like it and it proves too small I can sell it and get a bigger one. Maybe a different brand. But for $450 with a cover and with the tray it's a good deal.
