Lol what? The DCF923B is a 3/8 compact impact. The 891 is a much bigger and heavier mid torque model. The 899 is even bigger and heavier than that as it's a high torque. Comparing apples to oranges here my guy. Not everything needs a big brute of an impact, especially in tight spaces. Might wanna see how much smaller and lighter these are before making silly statements.

those power adjustments are a gimmick. the battery power fluctuates too much. use a torque wrench and get the cheaper model.

First off, they're not weak. They all serve a purpose for different reasons / jobs. 2nd off, do a little homework. If you have a lowes card, there's twenty perc coupons floating around (big search engine). 891 can be had at lowes for $183 and some tax. Better deals to come? I'm sure, but it's a great deal at the moment.

I have the 891 and the new 921. 2 different tools for different jobs. 921 / 923 are beasts for their size, unbelievable actually.

It's a protective "boot"

These get thrown around a lot…get scuffed, etc. The boot protects it a bit.

The only thing I can think of that I might need an impact wrench for is removing lugs from a wheel to work on brakes or change tires. Which if these is best for that? I also assume that you would still need a torque wrench correct?

I have a 20v DCF880 in my travel trailer to raise, lower the jacks. It's been in the rain a lot and even in the mud a few times and keeps working great. I also use it for rotating my car/truck tires and swapping winter wheels because it's cordless. These are handy!

I am thinking of picking up the lighter one here for the trailer and keeping my heavier 880 in the house tools.

Overkill. The 891 is a mid torque model that's capable of 800 lbs of breakaway torque. Nobody torques lugs or bolts for wheels even close to that spec. It's usually around 80-120 ft lbs depending on the vehicle. The 891 is better suited for suspension work, bolts of 3/4" or bigger.
