For the uninitiated, what are the exact steps of the cancel/return? It can't be as easy as cancel/return and Home Depot doesn't catch it, right?

It used to be easy, but the HD website started blocking people from canceling or returning bundled items. The way I did it last time was by going in-person to return the extra item and they gave me back my $100, no questions asked.

Previously, I would select home delivery for the item I wanted to keep, and in-store pickup for the "return". In a week or two they would refund me on the "return" I didn't pick up. The last time my refund was a gift card...
You can search SD for HD Hack to see how easy it was. Now, when attempting the 2 shipping locations, you get "Please make sure promotional items have the same delivery or pickup options and try again".

Ordered, it did let me choose 2 different stores for pickup. Paid 306.90 with tax. Jigsaw came around 107+tax.
