Same. I owned a health care business and employed a few students still in high school who would often be studying advanced physics, organic chem, calculus, comp sci, etc., courses I had taken only once I attended college.

But on the flipside, they had no clue about things like basic history, literature, philosophy, econ, government, etc. Most had no concept or even an interest in how to track personal spending, balance a budget, invest in the market, analyze a car loan, do small mechanical repairs, etc.

And these were not dumb individuals, just students who were taught in a system that I found to be very foreign compared to my studies back in the day. I found it very disturbing and worrisome to be honest. No wonder there is such a disconnect and lack of ability to think critically, and an inability or unwillingness to even consider another's viewpoint in order to reach mutual understanding and tolerance of others these days.

Buy these and learn something, plus save hundreds of thousands of dollars compared to what they teach these days in schools and universities. Come to think of it, I think most students these days probably graduate not knowing half of this stuff because it is not taught anymore.

when talking with my 6th grader it's interesting to me that certain things were taught several years earlier than when I was in school and at the same time a lot of what I would consider basic stuff they still haven't learned

my kids told me the fonts are too small, you can zoom but obviously it will not fit everything into one page after you zoom. Usually kindle books should allow you to change the font size so it's a bit more readable but not these ones. Can anyone comment on that? We have the Kindle Paperwhite (forgot which version it is).
