My Experience
These deals with cruises usually work for payments towards new or existing reservations. The best value is experienced with the deal is present on multiple cards and then one makes several minimum payments ($500 here) and receives the $125 back multiple times. Please note "Excludes purchases onboard, Norwegian gift cards, shore excursions and transportation to and from the ship." I have used these in the past towards prepaid gratuities, because payment towards those is processed the same way as payment towards the cruise fare.

DETAILS
Get a one-time $125 statement credit by using your enrolled eligible Card to spend a minimum of $500 on cruise reservations online at ncl.com or via phone at 1-888-438-7114 by 9/12/2022. See terms.

OFFER TERMS
Enrollment limited. Must first add offer to Card and then use same Card to redeem. Only U.S.-issued American Express® Cards are eligible. Limit 1 enrolled Card per Card Member across all American Express offer channels. Your enrollment of an eligible American Express Card for this offer extends only to that Card. Offer valid for reservations booked online via US website only at NCL.com, via phone at 1-888-438-7114 or through your preferred travel advisor by 9/12/2022. Valid only on purchases made in US dollars. Excludes purchases onboard, Norwegian gift cards, shore excursions and transportation to and from the ship. Offer is non-transferable. Limit of 1 statement credit per Card Member. You may not receive the statement credit if we receive inaccurate information or are otherwise unable to identify your purchase as qualifying for the offer. For example, you may not receive the statement credit if (a) the merchant uses a third-party to sell their products or services; or (b) the merchant uses a third-party to process or submit your transaction to us (e.g., using mobile or wireless card readers); or (c) you choose to make a purchase using a third-party payment account or make a purchase using a mobile or digital wallet. Purchases may fall outside of the offer period in some cases due to a delay in merchants submitting transactions to us or if the purchase date differs from the date you made the transaction (for example, the purchase date for online orders may be the shipping date). Statement credit will appear on your billing statement within 90 days after 9/12/2022, provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase. Note that American Express may not receive information about your qualifying purchase from merchant until all items/services from your qualifying purchase have been shipped/provided by merchant. Statement credit may be reversed if qualifying purchase is returned/cancelled. If American Express does not receive information that identifies your purchase as qualifying for the offer, you will not receive the statement credit. Limit 1 enrolled Card per American Express Card online account. The enrolled Card account must be active, not past due, canceled, or have a returned payment outstanding to receive the statement credit. Any benefit earned from this offer is in addition to the rewards (i.e. Membership Rewards or cash back) earned as part of your existing Card benefits, but your ability to earn spend-based rewards for the purchase will be based on the amount after any statement credit or other discount is applied. Amex Offers are dynamic and personalized, so the offers you see may change. For questions regarding your Card Account, please call the number on the back of your Card. By adding an offer to a Card, you agree that American Express may send you communications about the offer.

I had $125 back on $500 on my card and $250 back on $1000 on my husband's card. I believe ours are Blue Cash Everyday (no fee). Thanks much! We have an NCL cruise booked for later this year.

I booked thru bjs wholesale awhile back and still have to pay the balance. Can I pay the rest thru Norwegian or has to go thru Bjs?

Take a look at your credit card statement and see how the charges went through for the deposit made through BJs. I have worked with some travel agencies which result in charges booked with the cruise line and others with charges booked through the travel agency. If it is the former than you should be good to go. You could also talk with BJs about it too. Most travel agencies are becoming familiar with the AMEX Offers for cruises and know that their customers want to take advantage of them.

You do know that all cruise companies added massive debt to their balance sheet just to stay afloat since 2020 and with interest rates rising, that is just bad news for investors.

Incase you are unaware, you can prepay your gratuities and that counts toward your amex spend and I believe ground transpiration, but 100% on that one.

In the past when I booked with Carnival, I called in to their support center and asked if they could move the charges to a different credit card. They willingly did so.

On that note, I'll be half a century old this year and everyone tells me to try a cruise. In your opinions, is it a safe time? If I have no one to attend with me is it expensive to get a room for one handicapped person? I just don't want to bite off more than I can chew. Thank you in advance.

It is worth it, but now cruises are very crowded. Handicap rooms are limited, so getting one takes more planning than most trips. Depending on how far your travel, to the por, I would suggest a 3 or 4 day cruise on the largest ship you can get, just to limit your time if it is not for you. Carnival is more like a Walmart and Royal is more upscale, I have not taken a Norwegian one, but since they give you free drinks, it could be more of a party cruise. In your case, I would suggest a AAA travel agent to help with the details and to make you more comfortable on the whole process, it can be stressful for some. Hope that helps.
