One thing to note with this offer is that you can claim the 80,000 points with this and then downgrade the card to a Double Cash in a year. Effectively giving the Double Cash a 800$ sub
1) Meet spending requirement on Citi Premier card
2) Earn 80,000 point sign up bonus
3) Downgrade Premier to Double Cash or Custom Cash before you're charged with another annual fee
4) Points balance should carry over from Premier to your downgrade card

No con, rewards categories will still apply. Can you tell me HOW and/or HOW LONG it took for you to be able to generate the virtual credit card? When I login to my account, the new Premier account isn't there so I have no way to generate the virtual credit card. I was just approved several hours ago, do I need to way a few days, or what was your experience? TIA!
I was able to generate the number the next day or at most 2 days after approval, I believe.
Keep in mind I already had 2 existing Citi cards. When I signed into the Citi website I noticed an alert that the site detected an unattached account or something like that. I do believe I had to notice the alert—it didn't pop up or impede my navigation.
When I clicked the alert, it took me through the steps to add the Premier card to my existing account. I think I was able to generate the virtual number instantly at that point.
Hello, Does anyone know if this card has extended warranty? (Website is not clear) Silly question: is it necessary to be same tier card holder at the time if at all I need to claim extended warranty in future...?
Yes, the Citi Premier Card does offer extended warranty protection. The Citi Premier extended warranty policy will lengthen the original manufacturer's warranty by up to 2 extra years for warranties of 7 years or less. The maximum coverage amount per item under the Citi Premier Card extended warranty policy is $10,000.
I still have the Premier card for 3 years now. Am I still able to apply for this credit card and get the bonus offer? I heard you can.
Also, next year when you plan on cancelling this card when you get charged the annual fee, call them for a retention offer, they usually make me pay the annual fee and then give me $95 statement credit once I spend at least $95 to off set the annual fee.
Now I understand why Citi had often been referred as 'slums of investment banking' back in the days. Not only does it suck in investments, apparently it had become a complete garbage on the retail side as well....
... so after being denied (score 800+)... I tried to keep speak with Credit Applications team. Since everything is outsourced to SouthEast Asia, I ended up speaking with an offshore team.
These guys have ZERO clue on what is going on. However, they gave me these numbers to call:
800-842-2348 and 888-201-4523. The irony is there is no human present to discuss anything and there is no option to do choose a human person.
Today I called them again...someone in China picked up the phone... After about 30 minutes of explaining and asking to speak with someone in the US to discuss US-bound issue, I was given this number 800-637-3116. When I dialed, it said "Congratulations, you won $100 gift card from Walmart.' Please wait while we connect you to a live rep....

I will never ever do business with Citi.
the moment it is a south east asian country I immediately understand the call is of no use

Yes p2 and I got 2. Tracker and offer works as long as you meet the criteria
It says earn 80k points "after qualifying purchases". Does anyone know if some retailers are excluded? I was possibly planning on building a new PC with the new hardware releasing soon. It would probably be $3600 or more for the build so this would be perfect but not sure if sites like Best Buy, Newegg, etc. count towards the spend but I assume they do? Not sure I would even get approved for this card in the first place lol Also I don't have a current Citi card or account so I assume I will have to wait until the card comes in the mail to use it? I've never applied for a CC with an annual fee before. I have 5 CCs with 2 opened in the last 3 or 4 months so I'm wondering if I will be declined due to that alone lol

Hello. I applied for the card today. I did n't get any email notification about the 80,000 bonus points in the mail. Also, in the final check out , it said you are all set but did nt mention about the bonus either. The only place that i saw when I clicked on the link to start an application. Can you please confirm do you also see this behvaior?
