This is a great deal on this unit. Adding the 3 or 4 year warranty on the refurb saves a lot still vs buying new and guarentees you won't have to buy a replacement for at least the 3 or 4 years while under warranty.

Hmm...keep the new GE 10.5K BTU wifi unit from Walmart @ $326 or this one with ~30% more BTU cooling, ~$10 less, but refurbed? These is how Slickdeals makes me lose sleep. #FirstWorldProblems

*Edit* Nm. GE is more powerful using ashrae rating

Sorry but not a good deal. Woot just had a 3 day deal on the 14000 BTU Toshiba (Midea replica) heat-pump mode for $299 (Home Depot sells for $700)l. That's a lot better than a single hose and even better than dual hose portable ac's. Plus you can run as heater in the winter time and cool the outside.

Single hose portable AC's are awful. Specially at this price. Go with dual hose or heat-pump.

I agree that unit's better but that doesn't mean this isn't a good deal. For the price and specs it's the best deal to be had currently.

That $300 dual hose Toshiba has ruined me (As I missed out). Anything less seems not so slick now.

Isn't that like saying a 400hp muscle car is a better deal than a 250hp SUV? They serve diff purposes as I recall the heat-pump one is a permanent install vs something like this can be rolled from room to room. I've had a Danby roll-away unit for 7yrs+ now and have used it a few times in emergency central AC outage and have loaned it out to friends (it's at a friend's house right now while he fights with home warranty to fix their central AC).

Its expired now. I ordered it when it was on on sale at Walmart. Initially I thought this was more powerful but they appear to be the same when using an equivalent BTU scale

The GE one is awesome! I'm apparently collecting portable AC's. The 10,000 btu Toshiba from Walmart was weak AF compared to the GE. I did also buy that Toshiba on Woot Tues. We will see how that compares. Thankfully Walmart has a 90-day return window so I can return the junk ones.

No it's not. Your logic is nonsocial - mine is not. That's the difference.
Two items from the same manufacturer (Toshiba), similar BTU (13k vs 14k), nearly the same price are comparable. 400 hp vs 250hp are not comparables. Read before you leave a silly comment.

Thanks for the info! I wish I had seen that woot deal but I'm in too deep on the ge now. Lol. Ordered the dual hose kit, there's no turning back now. Smilie
