They drop to this price monthly. I picked up the xp500 last time it was on sale for $299. I returned it immediately for a JBL partybox 100. The xp 500 is waaaaay to quiet on battery.
When plugged in its almost as loud and clear as the PB100 on battery.
Also i wanted to do karaoke with it and the xp500 did not have mic gain controls. The pb100 has independent mic volume AND gain controls making it superior for that use case.
