I am typing this with an HP with this exact Ryzen 3 processor with the same 8GB RAM. The 3250U would never be mistaken for a high-end processor, but for most day-to-day tasks like browsing, using MS Office, watching streaming videos, etc., it does just fine so long as, just like the OP ASUS and my HP, it has a sufficient amount of RAM and a decent SSD.

I have 16 tabs open on my Chrome right now as I write this, and this Ryzen 3 CPU does not feel bogged down at all.

CPU is a little weak, but other than that this is a great deal for a basic laptop, and the cpu will be fine for browsing. Backlit keyboard, fingerprint, anti-glare screen... why can't those be default on all laptops? Don't need one, but I wouldn't hesitate if I did.

Nice deal considering the RAM can be upgraded and the MB has a SATA bay.

This one has twice the ram, and a 2yr warranty... seems worth it. This Ryzen 3 beats my 6th gen i7 on benchmarks (not by much, but should be a fine cpu for basic use)

It should take also about 15 minutes to convert to Ubuntu.

I love ubuntu (lubuntu), but this is false. Plan on at least 2 hours, particularly if it's your first time then more like 5 hours. I recommend it

Where's all the love that the Gateway with 4gb of ram got?

This is a much more functional laptop with double the ram, double the storage, much faster storage, a backlit keyboard and double the warranty.

This laptop is nuclear compared to the Gateway for $50 more.
