    Got one for my kid. Plus cashback from certain site and extra points from being a Pro member. it is a good deal. Should be decent for Roblox games/ Roblox studio + Youtube. Need to get extra RAM.

    question to all: if i want to replace the stock SSD (instead of just adding on another drive), how do you reinstall Windows? Does Lenovo has a hidden petition somehow or I have to download Windows somewhere to a USB stick and install (after swapping the SSD)?

    Will I be able to exchange if the laptop screen has some light bleed on 2 corners? I can't unsee it now.

    **Update**

    Got on a chat with a GameStop CS rep and they authorized an exchange via store return. And that they would ship me another once they get the old laptop.

    I lowered the brightness a bit and it doesn't look that bad anymore. Is it worth replacing if everything else works fine?

    Looking in the $400-$500 range for a decent laptop for a kid going off to college in the fall.. but I feel like this really isnt good for a college student.

    I got a 1TB 2.5in SSD for it. It's really up to what you do - but I'm used to 1-2tb on my desktop so 500gb seemed limiting. Also keep in mind it's good to keep an SSD not completely full as it runs faster if less full.

    Almost all IPS panels have that glow and light bleed effect. Unless you spend some SERIOUS cash, and even then, it's part of the technology at this point. I went through this with MANY panels for my desktop (among other issues like dead pixels). I can't unsee it on my current panel but it's a lot easier to ignore than bad pixels or inverted pixel layouts I dealt with.

    As I said before, that's not available to lots of people and not always easy to reproduce. I've gotten lucky and found open box items on eBay quickly. Other times I've spent months and gave up and just got a deal from here or got it new. And you can get burned on open box - I've had sellers lie about the model/features and gotten clearly used items and not simply I returned it because I didn't like it.

    We all know you can stumble upon good deals. A one off eBay deal isn't what slick deals is about…

    What is their use? This is a very good all around laptop in the cheaper end of the range (price wise mostly). Does the kid game? If yes, this is a great option and they can use it just fine for school and productivity even if they do that.

    If you want a very portable and long lasting machine for notes and power point presentations, this may not be ideal. Computers all have trade offs.

    Also, this has an EXCELLENT keyboard compared to most laptops, even more expensive ones. So even if they take a lot of notes, does better typing and more comfort outweigh the battery life or other trade offs thin/light laptops may have?

    Just received 4 days ago. Well made and attention to small details. 2.5" sata hardwares are all included in the packaging. Keyboard is nice. Webcam privacy shutter is a plus. Build quality is above average for a plastic build. Screen is very good at resisting reflection. My only gripe is that, if you go into Lenovo Vantage software and Lenovo.com, I have less than 7 months of warranty on the battery and 8 months of manufacturer warranty remaining on the laptop. Tried to call GameStop but they won't own up to it. Neither will Lenovo. However, still a good deal for a great all around laptop that is a great performer around the house.

    I'm never buying anything from GameStop anymore. This is the 2nd time I'm short on manufacturer warranty by purchasing a product with them. I'll go elsewhere.

    Same issue with laptop I received today. Shows warranty ends on 3/11/23. Contacted Gamestop and said they can't do anything about it. I'm hoping Lenovo can fix this issue once I contact them.
