Not sure saving $35 on a cell phone is worth giving up all the protections my credit card gives on purchases. That's the main downside to buying things with the gift cards.

Mine shows what the op posted. For the record I have purchased gift cards before. I'm going to guess you have not? And yes the limit of ~220k redemption sounds like it might go quickly.
