We've had ours for almost exactly a year now, and it's been fantastic. A few odd quirks, but we've learned to deal with them. Some details that surprised us early on:
1- It doesn't support streaming at under 1080p. We initially wanted to record for archiving at 1080 and broadcast at 720p, but no-can-do. Even if you choose to not record at all, it simply won't support lower than1080 broadcast. We ultimately just accepted that our broadcasting fees would increase (we have a fairly small budget, so every little bit matters).
2- The ISO recording is all or nothing. It'd be neat to have it only record Program plus one or two specific inputs, but nope. You have to go delete the unwanted recordings when done.
3- The video settings of the first couple inputs dictate certain behaviors of the Atem. If you want everything at 1080p30, make sure that's what you were getting from those two. I've run into other quirky behavior if all inputs don't match (which it can handle since it re-encodes), but match everything up and it's smooth sailing for hours on end.
4- Because of the above, boot order of your inputs matters.
5- Occasionally you need to unplug/replug USB because the computer doesn't get a video feed through it. Never had this issue when using internal capture cards. It's just something to keep an eye out for.
6- The onboard Media inventory only allows static photos. To work around this we bought a cheapie mp4 video player (20-30 bucks or so) that we can load up with our video resources and have them handy there connected to one of the inputs, just a little bit more cumbersome than if they were inside the Atem itself.

There's probably other little things, but don't get me wrong, this thing is a game changer when it comes to live broadcasting with a volunteer crew. Our production quality is leaps and bounds better than anything we ever dreamed of, and in a pinch we often get by without even turning on the desktop.

this is a great deal on a product that certainly few will know about / need. i haven't closely followed it but I haven't seen it under a thousand since release. appreciate the post! i've had an extreme ISO + a few other ATEMs for a few years and they really are fun products to work with

probably one of my highlights from b&h's sale… i couldn't find anything of interest

Yup, I have a small roland v1 that's a little cheaper than this. But for a few hundred more this atem is so much better and you have so many more options. This is a great buy for anyone who is into video production, live event production, streaming…it's an amazing piece of gear for an awesome price. Black magic does
tend to have a reputation for lower quality among the industry but, at least in my experience, whenever I've had a piece of gear of theirs fail, their fix was to replace it and customer service was/is amazing

I have the non-extreme, ATEM Mini Pro ISO, and I wish this was out when I got it. This fixes the two biggest faults of the non-extreme, which are the single HDMI out and single USB-C out. Having two of both makes it so much more flexible for different workloads.

Great deal. The separate feeds alone separates this from the Rolands. Might have to pick one up. So tempting.

Amazon has matched the price. It is shipped from and sold by Amazon so it would be good for 5% Amazon card discount.

Awesome; thanks. It seems Amazon has also marked down the non-ISO Extreme to $910, though you'd be somewhat crazy not to pay an extra $85 to get the ISO recording.

Wonder with the price drop, would that indicate a newer model coming? I'd like to see SDI inputs.

I think, by reason of BMD's product differentiation model, they would not bring SDI to this product in favor of selling the Atem Television Studio / etc "professional" grade devices with SDI. I don't think the "mini" line of Atems is inline with a large enough consumer base who use SDI systems over HDMI.

This thing is awesome if streaming/producing content. Individually record sources to fast USB.. 2 USB C connections that can be used for external recording and web cam.. start/stop live streaming... only issue I have with it is that there isnt a 4k version.

As the previous reply said, it seems they're differentiating between desktop HDMI "mini"s and rackmount SDI. There are the new SDI-based Constellation HD models, but no ISO a recording, no encoding, no supersource…

I'm surprised to see such a niche product is on the front page.
