I can't remember when this wasn't the case. The Millenium Falcon set is over 20 years old. If you think legos are the $20 toys you see at Target or Walmart then you don't know anything about Legos.

I've ordered several sets, the Lambo, Bugatti, tree house, Disney castle, land Rover, ecto-1... All have been delivered by DHL and were pristine.

That being said, I've read dozens of horror stories on here.

Depends on what you mean by expensive. The first traditional (not electronics) set to break $200 was the Statue of Liberty in 2000: https://brickset.com/sets/3450-1/...of-Liberty. In 2022 dollars, that is $340. So the UCS Falcon, UCS AT-AT, Titanic, Hogwarts Castle, etc. are examples where prices at the top end have gone way up, e.g. the most expensive set in 2017 (Falcon) is 2.8x the price of the most expensive set in 2000 (Statue of Liberty, $284 in 2017 dollars).

But I don't think anyone will argue about LEGO sets being relatively expensive toys. And the more expensive sets are being marketed for adults now, which is a new trend, i.e. the sets in black boxes are considered "16+" or even "18+". Just a heads up. My Ecto1 came in. Box not in excellent condition. The middle of the box is dented. No damage on the shipping box itself. If u guys dont mind about the damage and will open to build, it's fine. These things are a hit and miss.
