Seems the containers you receive are not the clear ones shown on the pictures. They are a cheaper, softer, translucent plastic. Plus you have to question of the longevity of those "hinged" lids. they are just bending the plastic which will fail with time vs a real hinge. Questionable for the price.

It is a great deal for this high quality brand. Usually around $10 min a piece in their store.

You have to see if you actually have a need for them! If so, then buy at this price.

I want to buy bc it's a good price...but I have 4 of them already for sugar, flour, rice, and brown sugar... not sure what else I really need them for.

But they are really good containers and have held up well for years! Easy to wipe clean too.

These things are amazing, I use them for all sorts of things that need to be airtight. My wife is a slow eater of chips and such and things don't go stale in these containers for months. I think the oil would go rancid before it goes stale

Exactly my experience. The container itself seems to be high quality, but the pop up button gets stuck easily. Returned it.

Hit up OXO customer support.

We have the V1 from costco, and one of ours dropped off the fridge and shattered. I emailed them about getting a just a replacement body(if it was cheap enough) and they sent me a whole new V2 container with lid free-shipped.

That said. I'm not a fan of the V2 lids, Sure they have the accessories option, but they don't come apart like V1 so washing it it's more annoying. Both versions seems to keep things from not getting too stale for a couple of weeks though.

Lol you mean except for the fact that it's a totally different brand, totally different design, totally different materials....
I meant, rice, flour, food remain the same. Oxo is taking money for the brand. All of them are BPA free, thats all which counts. Why spend double for the same thing? It has 60k reviews, not 0.6 review for 4.8 star rating. People are being dumb. Spend $25 extra here but cry about extra $1 gas price.

I'm reading many others commenting the packaged bundle are not of the same quality as the standalone or previous versions. It's easy to compare the two but this isn't a good deal but a discount on a cheaper alternative. That alternative has the same brand but worse materials.

Note that these are branded as the "SoftWorks" line. I had some Oxo containers that I bought individually and I love them. Then I saw this set go on sale about six months ago and so I bought two sets. The SoftWorks ones (i.e. the ones in this bundle) are definitely not as good of quality.

First, the lids are definitely different. They are not interchangeable with the old ones. Shortly after I got these, I showed a friend them. Not knowing how they worked, he effortlessly pulled off the lid without "popping" it first, thinking that's how it was opened. The "airtight" seal was anything but. Note that he did this without any effort whatsoever, it's not like he aggressively pried it off. That never would have happened with the ones I bought originally.

The mechanism itself for opening and closing also feels clunkier. The old ones had an incredibly-smooth popping mechanism; all of the SoftWorks ones feel second-rate, like they went cheap on the buckling spring mechanism. It's louder, and just generally feels chintzy from a haptic standpoint. The button also feels like it sort of rocks back and forth horizontally, much more than the original ones I had.

So often in retail we see a company build an amazing product. Then, once they get their foothold on the market and gain a reputation and following, they bait and switch consumers by bastardizing the component quality to cut down on manufacturing costs. That is exactly what has happened here. I love Oxo products, but these are not close to what they used to be.

I don't know if I'd say to avoid them completely, but I wouldn't hold my breath on getting an airtight seal.

Funny you mention that. It's not like reviews can be fake. We bought these, they are hard plastic and cannot stack because they get stuck together! So here is your honest one star review. I had that set, it was worthless. Oxo for the win!

I bought a bunch of these overpriced oxo containers a few years back and decided to run an experiment to see how well they work.
I opened a bag of chips and put half in the oxo, half left in the bag. After eating from both the oxo and bag over a few weeks, the chips became stale in the oxo container while the bagged chips were still crispy. I no longer use the oxo containers.

and yes I was using the burp seal on the oxo to keep it airtight.
