No. Last year m1 MacBook Air was $750. If not urgent, I'd keep waiting until M2 air comes out. Will probably see better deals

It's never been $700.

It was $749 (via student discount) at Best Buy. Only once, one year ago, and for 36 hours.

Is this still true ?
I know 2 years warranty is included by just buying from costco but not sure about the 2 additional years.

I don't see 4 years or additional years listed on either of these sites.

The Costco Anywhere Visa® Card by Citi
https://www.costco.com/credit-card.html

Please reply so I know to apply for the card. Thanks
It states it right on the Citi website: "Get an extra 24 months added to your warranty when you purchase items at least in part with your Citi card."

https://www.cardbenefits.citi.com...ranty.aspx

I would call their call center to confirm Apple products still apply though: Questions about these benefits?

Only Apple can pull this off deal like this with 33 thumb up... if any window OS laptop with 8GB RAM and 256GB drive selling for anything over $500 people it will have 33 thumb down LOL
That's because Macs will go on forever unlike a cheap windows machine which will stop working in a couple of years. MacBook Air and MacBook Pro brought in Aug 2014 and used daily by my kids and they still are going strong (except for battery life which is not great anymore). OTOH, I have changed at least 3 Windows machines for my wife who has refused to move to Mac.

It actually happened multiple times over a span of a few months and I remember because I was tracking the deal and hesitated each time on pulling the trigger. Then it eventually went up to $799 as the routine deal price and the $750 price never came back. Now it's hovering at $830-$850 despite the M2 refresh being right around the corner.

Really doubt it will come back down below $800 just with general price increases on all things over the last year.

$200 off the list price and it's not even released yet? That will require some patience.

M1 processor kills the deal
8gb of ram is going to be the bottleneck in this model

I like my 14 inch m1 Macbook Pro as well as m1 mac mini but what you wrote is pretty much false.

Wife's maxed out 16 inch macbook pro from 2017 is sluggish as hell while my 7 year old MSI laptop on Windows that was half the price of MBP is still running just fine.

There are a ton of great Windows machines that are at least as durable as macs, often better.

Airhead comment. I have the Mac Studio M1 Ultra and MacBook Pro m1 Max and this simple M1 MacBook Air is still my favorite one to use and keeps up with the flock. I don't even want to get the new m2 version. I would only upgrade it for a 15" version, although this 13" is perfect for flights.
I used this for work for about a year and for some reason it constantly gave me issues - small freezes and crashes that became very noticeable with time.

At the same time, the basic model of macmini NEVER gave me any issues at all - idk if its because of that 1 extra core or better cooling system.

I really want to get this for portability, like you said it's GREAT for travel, but the sluggishness and sub-par display are not making me happy.

Another point to consider: 256 gb on macmini is very usable as you can always put a stationary external drive and call it a day.

256gb on the laptop though is very little, and bringing external drive everywhere you go is no fun

My kids are still using a 2011 mac book air with no problems except a battery replacement. No other windows computer going to give you that.

Yep. Mr. save the planet is directly responsible for obscene amounts of forced obsolescence just to make more money.

It can be a pain when that happens but a re-install can make a huge difference. With icloud, it's not that bad.
