I really don't understand why it would be so hard for them to use a sugar substitute instead of actual sugar in those insane lemonades. I don't like to drink calories....

That's because the $11 Turkey sandwich they sell while someone's "there anyways" more than makes up for some free lemonade

Over two years of free coffee has come to an end. When I cancelled my current subscription I was give an offer of $3.33 per month for the next three months. Although it hurts me to finally pay for coffee, this beats changing phone numbers and emails every 30 days. One coffee per month makes it worthwhile.

I'm currently on the end of their last big free giveaway (thru July 18th). I just requested to cancel and it offered me 3.33/month for 3 months. Considering the fact I'm stopping by 3+ times a week for a large diet pepsi, it's worth it.

From what I understand, they allowed any size personal mug for refills and someone in a previous thread mentioned using a monster 100 oz Big Gulp mug for Pepsi refills, so that could affect some of their data tracking. Also, it's probably not a big deal for soda, but if some people were filling those huge mugs with coffee, it could make it harder for them to keep track of how often they need to refill the pots, since some of those giant mugs are like 5 times a regular cup. In other words, if they have some kind of automatic trigger for an employee to refill coffee pot X after 20 orders come through, but two people have refilled their monster mugs, they end up running out without warning. I doubt most stores will say anything if using your own mug, but it may help them keep things straight if some stores were having problems tracking things like that.

Technically, you're supposed to order a new drink after 2 hours (if you've left the store). Still free, but it probably impacts the store's revenues ever-so-slightly.

My guess is that the store receives some type of per-cup monetary credit from corporate, since it is corporate that collects the subscription fees. The individual store still has to pay for cups/syrup/coffee/filters/etc.
