screen is more or less the same, but having more RAM in 2021 model is a more important improvement.

Do check the android version it comes with. Amazon does not do OS version increases to its devices. Even the latest 2021 device comes with old android os.

I have one and it's fantastic. I'd strongly recommend paying the $15 to remove ads. The ads slow down the tablet a LOT. With ads disabled the tablet feels very usable. Screen and speakers are very good for the price. It's perfect for my four year old on long car rides

It's good for reading and watching youtube but beware if you want to use it for anything else. The lag will be positively unbearable.

Great budget option if you read comics/manga as it's more than sufficient and has a 1080p display which is more than what other tablets in this price range have.
