Far Cry 6 was terrible.

Play 3 before anything else. In my opinion, 5 is the next best (I still load it up occasionally, four years after it was released). Then Primal, but I totally get why some people may not like Primal.

Why FC6 sucks:

* The dumb backpack rocket and switching to 3rd person just completely destroys any immersion.

* Instead of leveling up to stronger rifles and adding armor-piercing bullets to take down the biggest bad guys, you instead are supposed to switch out ammo for each type of bad guy. I just did nothing but head shots, which completely eliminates that entire game mechanic.

* It's a Cuba-like island populated by people who exclusively speak English with a Spanish accent. In previous games, you can hear NPCs nearby because they had (often humorous) dialog. In FC6, all you get is the same blast of staticky, Spanish speech from their belt radios.

* Giancarlo Esposito doesn't really have very much interaction with the player. Personally, I didn't get the feeling of an arch bad guy toying with me, like in every game prior.

* All of the NPC companions are animals. No more hilarious dialog from Hurk, as well as further inhibiting immersion.

* The map is huge, but mostly empty and lifeless. Compare to FC5 where you come across NPCs sitting around a campfire playing a guitar.

It has none of the charm, wit, and humor of the earlier games.

I'm a FC fan and have sunk too much time in to all of them. This one is the weakest probably worth 15 but pretty disappointing and stupidly easy.

I got it the last time it went on sale, coming from someone who has never played Far Cry, I'm really enjoying it. I've been playing it for weeks and I keep going back to it. I'd recommend it for that reason alone

Love this game, put 40 hours in and beat it. Easily worth $30, 40, or 50. The island is a great environment and tons of fun to walk, drive, fly, or ride (on a horse) around. Really violent, but nothing you probably haven't seen before.

Looks like this game actually goes for more used on eBay, so at worst after fees and shipping, you'd only be out a few bucks by just selling it afterwards. Like others have said, the game is hardly a masterpiece, but if you like shooters it is plenty fun for several hours and worth jumping on at this price.

Agreed. I feel like it's got the most polished core gameplay loop of all the FarCry games to date. I rather enjoyed the story even if it wasn't exactly original. Giancarlo Esposito turned in a great performance. The gunplay is solid. Air-Dropping everywhere is fun. Best of all there are only a handful of tower climbs and they are all pretty unique and interesting.

I also like that it's basically a fascist murdering simulator. Nothing hits like killing nazis.

Enjoyed them all but thought they all became repetitive. Did like that 5 did away with the silly communication tower idea to unlock the map areas and thought it had the most variety but it too got repetitive.
