That Laptop is pretty good for the price and for normal usage, that would be fine. This is recommended f you need slightly better Processing power, user upgradable Ram, durability and good selection of ports.
Ideapad 5 you have pointed out is pretty solid for normal daily usage and has good build quality too.
That IdeaPad uses a 5700U processor, which (despite also being in the 5000 series) is based on the older Zen 2 architecture. It'll be plenty fast, but a bit lower performance than the Zen 3-based 5825U, esp. in single-core, which still matters more for day-to-day tasks.
Double "meh". Price is not that great for starters. But the deal killer is the substandard display. According to specs, it is IPS. IT IS NOT. Aside from the extremely limited color spectrum, viewing angles are pathetic. I ordered the Gen 3 Thinkbooks during the BF deals, same display, both the touch and non-touch versions. Really wanted to like them but finally returned both units. The display was that bad. At this price point, simply unacceptable. Paid around $50 more for the LG Gram 15 and never looked back.
"MIL-STD-810H military test passed" is a completely worthless statement I often see in marketing. MIL-STD-810 is a massive document with all sorts of different tests and different levels within those tests. Without a method, procedure, and pass/fail criteria specified it means nothing. https://quicksearch.dla.mil/qsDoc...mber=35978
