3 batteries = 4.5V. You could wire this to be powered by a cheap 5V USB plug and eliminate the batteries.

There is an argument to be made that battery powered versus rechargeable is preferred in the event of an emergency. Also, this is a great deal and if it is not bright enough, you can simply return it.

Thanks OP! Bought couple - too good to pass.

For all the people with concerns - it seems to have sensor which means you can also keep this in dark closets and battery will last long; Unless of course if you spend a lot of time in THE dark closet ;-)

Unless you're on top of it the batteries you have stored away 6 years ago may not work for any length of time. With a rechargeable light you are more likely to have a power bank for your smartphone that would be able to charge your rechargeable light. On top of that individuals that own cordless power tools would most likely have a plethora of batteries laying around with an adapter for charging devices
