I probably SHOULD (finance wise) use 14/2, but I always wind up using 12/2 in case I need to go to 20 amps. Kinda silly, I know, but it's a lot easier to swap out receptacles and fuses compared to replacing wiring.
There is nearly five times more copper in the typical home than in a fully electric car.
good price, will stick it in a garden hose and pretend it's audiophile speaker cable. Smilie

I don't know why a 5k sq ft house is the contention point. My house growing up was 5100, 4 bed / 5.5 bath and was on the smaller side for my area... current house is smaller at 2200, but was shopping recently in the 5-6k foot range (though I'm being lobbied quite hard to buy 'nicer' the 3-4k range)...

Anyway, wiring isn't the only place copper appears in homes. It is a major component of AC systems as well as piping...

Pricing coming down? Not for the next five years, and that's if we're lucky.

Check out how much copper is used in electric cars. Wondering how many houses could be built with the amount of wire in one electric car?

This sounds like a comment from a Dave Ramsey fan. What a blow hard

( because keyboard warrior wanted to insult the guy by saying he can't afford / is lying about the house size )

Didn't want to be rude, but was thinking the same thing. You may eat up your savings in scrap compared to a 250' roll if you are doing much wiring. (I was all excited for a moment seeing Romex on sale till I saw the length!).

Wire nuts? Man, if you are still using those, give these [amazon.com]a go.

So nice. You can even work stuff hot (not that I would ever recommend this).
