Just because something goes on sale a lot means that it isn't a good deal?

Additionally, I'd also suggest that assessing items only based on how much it's discounted from retail is *exactly* what companies want you to do. That's why so many have these perpetual sales; they want you to see the retail, and just assume that the item is actually worth that much money, and then assume that prices below that level are inherently a good deal. Really we should be paying much less attention to retail price vs discount price, and instead assessing items on their relative value when compared to similar products and asking "does this product offer a good value to price ratio?" In other words, is it good bang for you buck.
Based on reviews I've seen and competing items I personally wouldn't pick it up at this price. $10 to $15? Sure, if I needed a few infrequently used chairs for cheap, I'd consider them. At this price, probably not.
Oh and for the record, that cooler is little more than a gimmick.

That's why so many have these perpetual sales; they know people take percentage-off as an indicator of what is and is not a good deal, when in reality the question being asked should be "relative to other products available, does this product offer a good value to price ratio?" In other words, is it good bang for you buck.

What I was getting at was the comment which seemed to say it was 'only $5 off'. Which on a $25 item might not seem like a lot. But 20% is still 20%. If the item was $250 and it was $50 off.. I doubt you would hear.. it's 'only $50 off'. I'm not referencing anything about the value of the product. Of course you should still do research and not just oh it's 20% off.. I'm buying it.
