Fair warning you may outgrow this very quickly. These are pretty dated technology, which means it may not be compatible with newer bikes.

If it fits, its probably fine for a one-off training session, but I would recommend a fluid or smart trainer if you plan to use it regularly and can afford the higher cost. I used a mag trainer on loan from a friend for about a month when I first got serious about cycling. I then upgraded to a fluid trainer and a year or so later on to a smart trainer. Each upgrade has materially improved my training experience. My view has been that if I am stuck riding a bicycle inside... I want it to be a decent experience.

Check the Q&A on the amazon page for compatibility- it seems this doesn't work for most peoples' thru-axles, which are common on newer bikes. If you have the older-style quick-release you should be good to go.

Would Specialized Axis Sport Wheels work?

its a bike from 2016

I dont think the axel is removable looking at it, since theres a bottom opening where the while+axel drops off the frame of the bike

what's this normally go for? I don't have the space for it - or even a bike to put on it - but if the price is right, SD mentality....
$120 on sportneer website, but Costco may have been selling for around $100 earlier.

The closest one on the website does not have quite the same measurements in the specs section, so I wonder if this is a model made just for Costco?

If they're quick release wheels, you should be good

This is a great deal, as this even comes with accessories and has 8 resistance settings. As for this being dated, I have had fluid trainers, and they are good for easy, low cadence work-outs, and they are quieter, but for me the feeling was artificial and they did not allow for fast accelerations and higher cadence workouts were cumbersome. On these magnetic resistance trainers, I have done amazing workouts at high cadence. Also, check out your local bike shops, they may offer classes, so you don't have to do it all alone.
