Wow, good timing! I had just placed an order for 5TB My Passport on Amazon. Cancelled and ordered 2 of these instead.

My 4TB Passport drive just died today when I was backing it up, and placed it next to my laptop's trackpad...... where there's a magnet for some damn reason. lol

A lot of refurbed HDD and M.2 drives from Gamestop posted lately. Where did they get them from? Did they sell that many new that were returned?

Gamestop is ridiculous. The refurbished 5tb is 20 bucks more than new!

Just got an Xbox series S recently and was looking for a good deal to expand the storage. This looks like it will work nicely! Was also able to order without Pro membership.

How exactly does this work? Do I install the "new" games to this drive? Do I need to install an OS on this drive? Relatedly, can one partition this drive and, say, put an older OS like W7 on their for games that will only run on W7?

It's just a regular external USB hard drive but marketed for gaming. You can do whatever you want with it.You can install games on it, partition it for use with different machines or just back up data.
