This does have IPS Panel
The Keyboard is backlit and it is a 3 stage one. Confirmed and shown in the Video.
The Type-C Port is full functional, supporting Data, Power Delivery and DisplayPort 1.2 (4K@60Hz)

I'm not seeing the model number or full spec listing anywhere. How did you find it to confirm? Seems to be a pretty good deal this time of year.

based on this previous thread, looks like one person did purchase and confirm a TN, non-touchscreen panel (even confirmed with seller, Lenovo themselves). considering the ebay posting does not list neither IPS nor touchscreen (yes, they may have accidentally omitted it), I wouldn't bet 100% that it is IPS touchscreen.

seems like you may have extrapolated from previous posts as well as the youtube review stating that it is IPS (didn't seem like he confirmed that it is touchscreen, but correct me if i'm wrong), and ideapad 3's IPS seems like it only comes in touchscreen, but i'd be careful unless you have definitive proof.

walmart has this model with 8gb ram (same MPN of 82RN003QUS), listing it as 250nit TN panel:

FYI to anyone looking for a laptop,

This deal beats everything on sale during 2021 black friday in terms of performance vs price.

Lenovo is the brand I trust most in terms of build quality.

This is a good buy IMO

First of all, calling Lenovo support or any Laptop support, for getting information about exact Laptop specification which you're not able to find even after a lot of research, 90% time you'll get wrong information. Unless you are asking for an existing product support, normally the Sales team handles these and they are pretty much uneducated in these.
Now, this does not have a touchscreen, that was a Type from my end while copy pasting the spec from an old post.
I have posted a video link from a very reputed YouTube Reviewers who literally showing the laptop to have a backlit keyboard and even the three brightness stages of it.
Now regarding your question about IdeaPad 3 15ABA7, it has three display options, 1080P TN Non-Touch 250-nits, 1080p IPS Non-Touch 300-nits and 1080p IPS Touch 300 nits. You can go and check in Lenovo Psref and see the Platform specification,: https://psref.lenovo.com/Product/...7?tab=spec

I wonder how this would compare to the macbook air 2020 m1 chip? I have never had a mac laptop so im skeptical buying the one on amazon.

2020 Macbook Air starts at $1000 with 8gb ram and 256gb ssd. The m1 may perform slightly better but for overall cost to specs Lenovo seems like a much better buy.

That was official Launching price. Now, with various deals, it can be purchased around $800-$850. You just need to look for the deals in Best Buy, Costco or in Amazon.
