Just bought one. Confirmed with Lenovo sales support. This particular doesn't have fabric.

I can confirm that this laptop has fabric covered lid. I got it a couple of weeks ago where there was a similar deal.
Laptop looks beautiful and connectivity options are great, but it get really hot when multiple application running. Face Id login doesn't work consistently. Wi-fi got disconnected a couple of times so far. Battery life is not close to what they advertise. I didn't like the fabric cover.

You're right,same internals but they upgraded the screen to 16:10 ratio. Idk what else they changed though.

Make sure you update all the drivers and latest Bios. I've seen this happening initially. I also suggest that you install the Radeon display driver from AMD Site which updates not only the display driver but also the audio and chipset drivers. For Lenovo specific updates, use the Vantage software to pull all the updates, including the Bios.
