another one of these amazon marked it up to give the appearance of a sale postings.
Camel says it has been this price since 2020, 2.99.
Yeah that's true, but notice that this specific style was 25% lower than another Johnson level that's exactly the same, except it's not the "GLOorg" color. It's also lower than anywhere else... so that makes it a good deal. Made in the USA as well.
As a case in point, I recall a few years ago when those 4 qt Staub dutch ovens were $99, but a bunch of authorized dealers all had them at that same low price for a few weeks. It went FP, but there were still a bunch of commentors that wrote "meh, been this price for weeks - no deal." Now you can't touch a new Staub 4 qt dutch oven for anywhere close to $99.
Sometimes things are just a good deal and need to be pointed out. There's no guarantee they'll stay this price.
well i was curious. i just bought a similar level recently. it was $3.48 so not worth returning, but this one does look a little better than the one i got at my local HD.
I have this one and after 1 drop it's super inaccurate… or maybe it was immaculate from the beginning, who knows. Point is, these aren't too reliable in my opinion.

For a dollar more, regular price, there's a magnetic one on the same page.
.
The OP is magnetic as well. I can't tell the difference, but maybe you can.
$3 delivered for Prime, you get a made in USA plumb, level and 45 degree tool that is magnetic with a V groove for pipe. Check it when you get it by flipping for the bubble to be in same spot and if all is well, it is worth the $3.

Yea, dropping any level is not good for them. The older levels, even from Craftsman, had adjustable and replaceable vials and not so bad if you dropped it. Today, most are throwaway.
Being cheap, these torpedo levels are widely used by block and brick layers off the string that can abuse them. But, if it is accurate, all you need is whatever straight edge, even a straight board to make whatever length level you need. Of course, the most accurate for distance, around corners, etc., would be a water level that is also cheap to make.
=================
It is important to check any level when you first get it, or before purchasing in store. Find a flat horizontal surface and flip it end for end to make sure the bubble is in the same exact spot for level. For plumb, find a flat wall and flip side to side and then end for end and side to side. You can go through 10 or more Stanley's at the box stores to pick the best one. Even Stabila can have one bubble off just a touch and why I buy in store, like Fastenal that gives us a good deal, to check before leaving.
