This 100% worked for me. I did the 36 month conversion 3 years ago. Expired in April 2022. I didn't renew gold or ultimate. Followed all the steps and now I have Ultimate until May 23, 2025. Thanks!

Can you elaborate on how this deal is overpriced? It seems pretty standard for an Xbox game pass ultimate conversion (from gold) deal and it doesn't require a VPN like other similar deals. 5 to 7 dollars per 3 month (or 4 month with the auto renew trick) seems like the normal deal price - this one is $6.79, which is on the high end of a "deal", but no VPN is needed. Maybe the OP should add a price for people that have already used the $1 game pass promo, so $13.99 more.

Am I misunderstanding this deal?

You're unlikely to be able to "Buy 1 month (of Game Pass Ultimate) for $1.00, get 2 months free" if you're an expired subscriber.

My subscription expired 2 weeks ago. I was able to do the $1 conversion just 5 minutes ago. However I bought the 1 year Xbox vpn trick instead as I'm not sure if this 3-month offer is part of what is getting people canceled recently.

I'm new to this so didn't do much research. Haven't heard of the 1 yr Xbox vpn trick.

Another thing. Mine also expired 2 wks ago. It has the upgrade for $1 but when I click it this is what it says.

I expected Microsoft's $1 promo to work for non-active subscribers.

Just fixed by mentioning this deal will only work for new subscribers who never joined Game Pas Ultimate before.

It's not just for new subscribers. It's dependent on of the user has an offer or not. Def can't be currently subscribed though

What am I missing, $6 for 3 months = $24 for a year, that's better than people who usually post $30/1 yr codes. Why are people saying this is overpriced even if you do need to spend $15 at end to convert to game pass ultimate. Also if the +1 month trick work (didn't know about that trick), that makes annualized cost $18...
